Daycare

Traditional doggie daycare programs pride themselves on high volume group play settings that often flood and overwhelm. With so many dogs (sometimes 10-20 in one yard) your dog is given very little space to safely regulate their frequent need for peace and quiet. Groups are often supervised by staff that have a limited scope of experience in recognizing the body language that immediately precedes the fall-out of sensory overload. This can result in stress and burnout due to unregulated play behaviors and a lack of adequate resting periods throughout their day.

We keep a maximum of 6 dogs per day.  This affords each dog more than adequate space that is kept safe and sacred to them during their stay. This is what provides them the ability to comfortably regulate their adrenaline and settle the cortisol that naturally builds in their bodies when away from home.  Being that dogs need an average 12-14 hours of rest per day (longer for puppies!) we also incorporate more frequent napping periods to supplement their home sleeping schedule.
